Top of the Tower

June 27, 2008

After a long morning bashing, drilling and screwing, i clambered up to the top of the tower to survey our handiwork:

…it’s a good place for trainspotting too.

SOWF // Day 4

June 27, 2008

The Girls

Today we had to prepare a presentation and gather information from Ruby, Exyzt and Sara about their job roles. So we could prepare our information and tell our classmates what we have been doing during work experience. Then we watched some music video’s and took ideas to how we’re going to set it out and perform it. We spent some time planning and came up with a concept for the whole dance. we talked about costumes and how we could merge all of our ideas together to make a final show. We learned about animation using a camera by repeatedly clicking the button again and again. I used the animation to walk around the site and up the tower to show the different levels. I found it difficult because I didn’t feel comfortable walking with the camera around the site with one eye on the eye piece and the other eye closed and going up the stairs was difficult because I like to have a hand on the ladder.

Kimber, Belinda and Shay, June 24th

today we came up with a theme for our performance which will be revealed on the day (saturday the 12th july evening). We went around Southwark and took photos of the places we found interesting, including the cemetery we visited on day one: the Cross Bone Graveyard where there are ribbons attached to the main gates of the memorial place. We also visited Mint Street Park where we photographed some local graffiti, and things we found interesting or that we could use for our performance as a background projection of different images. we meet some photographers from “Studio Public” today and they told us about their company and about how they wanted us to take a disposable camera and take pictures of specific items. We spoke about the different ways we could use images in our performance and some of the ways were, projections on us or as the background, images on our tops. We were given the cameras and the log books.
